About the Retreat

At the relaxed and homely Breathing Space Norfolk you will experience a weekend with Anand Kirtan and Claire Missingham where we practice mantras and sing with Anand and move our bodies and practice yoga + kriya with Claire. Add to this wild swimming and activities on the water, and healthy, delicious food, you will leave feeling fully rejuvenated and back in tune with your creativity. 


Claire Missingham and Anand Kirtan, friends through their yoga and spiritual practice have teamed up to offer a sacred women’s weekend in filled with chanting, vocal improvisation, sharing and discussion, yoga and kriya, meditation and sound healing, with options for wild swimming or paddle boarding. Anand Kirtan is currently running and Arts Council funded project called Rewilding Voices and has put some of that budget towards this retreat, to make it more affordable and accessible. 

Daily there will be morning yoga and meditation, communal meals, which will be light, vegan and wheat free and daily yoga, meditation, sharing, singing, chanting and practicing some vocal sound healing and improvisation. There will also be time for journaling, walking, dance meditation and spending time near the sea, as we are right on the coast, - chanting on the beach together and deep sunset meditations. 

A typical day could look like this and will be weather dependent:

8am Morning Kundalini Yoga

9:30am Breakfast

11-1 Morning voice practice with Anand Kirtan, chanting, kirtan and vocal improvisation

1:30 lunch

3-5 Beachside yoga and meditation practice with Claire

6pm Sunset paddle boarding or swim

7pm Dinner

8pm, sharing/sound healing and free time for journaling.

All costs include Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, all meals, and teaching from Claire Missingham and Anand Kirtan

We are a short car ride away from the sea and will visit to walk the shore, swim or hire kayaks and paddle boards. Extra cost tbc for hire of equipment and this activity will be optional.

Deposit is £199 and is non refundable.  Your place is only secured with a deposit. Full payment is due by 21st June 2023.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel at any point, you are welcome to self-organise reselling or gifting your place to another woman who'd like to attend. We can't offer refunds, so it is strongly recommended that at time of booking, you take out comprehensive travel insurance for your peace of mind. 

If we the organisers cancel the retreat, you will have the choice of being refunded or offered another retreat date option.

About Us

Anand Kirtan & Tom. Anand Kirtan is a woman of faith, music and poetry. She has been writing, composing and producing music for the last ten years, alongside her musical partner and husband, Tom. She is also a kundalini yoga teacher, counsellor and uses karam kriya numerology to invite others into a healing conversation. She's published her own poetry book and much of her free time is spent writing songs, making music, practicing vocal improvisation and raising three teenage sons. 

Claire Missingham. Claire began teaching yoga 23 years ago, after discovering yoga as a choreographer while working in NYC. She toured as a private yoga teacher with many clients coming from the film and music industry including actors, broadcasters and musicians such as Natalie Imbruglia, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, Neve Campbell, Minnie Driver, Katie Puckrick, Danny Huston among others.  In 2009 opened the first Vinyasa Yoga Certified Teacher Training School in London, UK and continues to train highly skilled, unique and deep thinking teachers. She has contributed articles, sequences and been a model for USA’s Yoga Journal since 2007 and taught at the prestigious Yoga Journal Conferences, she has been featured in and has written on wellbeing  for Tatler, Grazia, Red and Vogue.  Claire is considered an authority on yoga philosophy, practice and the implementation of creativity in yoga. She is also certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and adores nothing more than chanting the Hanuman Chalisa in the early morning.
